Your Bio

My name is Carole Jeffery, I've just turned 50 and I discovered the wonderful world of photography in 2007 when I bought my first DSLR camera.

I'm lucky enough to live in an area of natural beauty. There are some wonderful areas nearby (just a short car drive) such as Hadrian's Wall, Weardale, the unspoilt Northumberland coastline, Durham and North Yorkshire.

Thankyou for joining me on my site and I hope you will spend a little time browsing my images. I had fun taking them and hope they give you some pleasure while viewing them.

Birds of prey : These images were taken at the Ben Potters Bird of Prey Centre. Ben concentrates on the natural behaviour of these magnificent birds, and show eagles, hawks, falcons owls and vultures in the most natural display of its kind! He has provided trained birds for many popular TV shows including - Heartbeat, Emmerdale and "At Home With The Braithwaites"

Lumiere (Durham) : Lumiere, a collaboration between 60 light-and-sound artists, staged as part of Durham's bid for UK culture capital in 2013. The highlight of the night was a phenomenal lighting up of Durham Cathedral, with pages from the 7th-century Lindisfarne Gospels. Pages borrowed from the British Library, and photographed, and somehow rendered in a slow-moving panoply, 100 metres wide and crawling up those impossible spires, by projection artist Ross Ashton, with impossible detail. Below is a video of some of my photos taken tonight (15th Nov 2009). Enjoy!
